Course Description

E-Procurement is the business to business purchase and sale of supplies and services over

the Internet. More and more organizations are viewing the application of best practices in

e-procurement as being essential skill sets needed by all employees involved in the

procurement process. This course focuses on the development of e-procurement in an

organization that then leads onto the management of the complete e-procurement process.

This course develops how to establish an e-procurement system within an organization that

needs to purchase through the Internet and establish how to provide and measure

procurement contributions to the organization so that this critical function and all those in

it can be elevated to be seen as a core organization competency.

Course Objectives

The objectives of this course unit are to:

Course Name: Disposal and Sustainable Management

Course Description: The course is designed to provide efficient and cost-effective disposal services for

industry and commercial customers and to establish minimum standards for the disposal

of capital assets in organizations.

Course Objectives: By the end of the course, students should be able to:

 Outline the disposal procedure as guided by the regulations;

 Highlight the legal provisions for disposal of assets under public and private

organizations

 Highlight cost-effective methods for handling all waste streams and provide

alternatives for reducing and recycling waste streams.

Learning Outcomes: On completion of this course, students will be able to:

 Describe the different methods used to dispose off assets and waste management.

 Identify the key players/responsibilities in disposal management.

 Demonstrate an understanding of the laws governing disposal of assets and waste

management.

The course is designed to develop the professional management competencies of current and future leaders in public procurement to seek to enhance their career in business and government organizations.
